THOMAS BETHMANN
President and Founder
Thomas Bethmann grew up around the world following his father’s Naval career, ultimately attending St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia. From there, he received an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy, where he played Division I golf, studied economics, science, and engineering, and launched his first business selling t-shirts. He graduated in 2008 and commissioned as a Naval Officer.
His service included roles aboard a guided missile destroyer, with a west coast SEAL Team, and in the Navy’s largest helicopter squadron. Driven to equip others for success, he also created and served as the first “Financial Advisor to Midshipmen” at the U.S. Naval Academy, guiding thousands of future officers in personal finance.
An entrepreneur at heart, Thomas founded, owned, and invested in several ventures prior to his military retirement. That path led to the creation of Redeployment—a recruiting and talent strategy firm serving early-stage life science and defense tech companies.
He has served on several nonprofit boards and actively mentors transitioning service members, veterans, and life science professionals, working with them to navigate the private sector and new job market. A lifelong learner, optimist, husband, and father of two young children, Thomas lives by the phrase: “PAY IT FORWARD.”
